New York Cares Coat Drive

Warm up New York, inside and out.

Warmth has as many layers. Warmth means protection from the cold. Warmth means having access to a hot meal when you are hungry. Warmth means being treated with dignity. Warmth means so much more than a coat. 

At New York Cares, we protect New Yorkers by distributing warm winter coats with care, but also by addressing essential needs such as hunger. In response to COVID-19, our volunteers have distributed more than 50 million meals to New Yorkers in need—that's 10x more than the year prior. 

In the past, your donations have helped more than two million New Yorkers receive a coat. This winter, when you donate $25 or more to the Coat Drive, you help distribute a brand new coat plus a week of meals to someone who needs it most. We encourage coat collectors from previous years to start their own fundraisers and recreate the experience of supporting the coat drive with friends and family virtually!
